Nusseibeh: Israel's "nightmare" or dream?

In this memoir, Sari Nusseibeh characterizes himself as right-wing Israel’s worst nightmare He sprinkles his text with “testimonials” from pro-settler luminaries who have condemned him through the years: one termed Nusseibeh “the pretty face of terrorism,” another labeled him the leader of a Saddam Hussein spy ring, a third called him the “paymaster of the intifada” and there were still others who demanded he be forced into exile or imprisoned.

Yet Nusseibeh is the president of Al-Quds University, the scion of one of the most distinguished Jerusalem families, an Oxford and Harvard educated philosopher, a consistent advocate of an assertive non-violence, an Arab who absolutely rejects antisemitism and a proponent of a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians....
