Meretz USA co-sponsors Breaking the Silence Speaker Dotan Greenvald Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope (274 Garfield Place, Brooklyn, NY). Dotan will share a collection of photographs, interviews by Israeli soldiers and share his story of the daily reality as a soldier in the occupied territories.   The event is also cosponsored by the Brit Tzedek v'Shalom Chapter of New York City and Americans for Peace Now. Founded by veterans of the Israeli Defense Forces who've served in the Territories, Breaking the Silence seeks to educate the Israeli public and the greater world-wide Jewish community regarding their service in West Bank and Gaza Strip, its effect on the IDF's soldiers and the Palestinian populations with whom they interact. Breaking the Silence are bringing to the US their exhibition of photographs and video testimonies provided by over 60 current and former IDF soldiers documenting their experiences in the Occupied Territories.
