COME DEMONSTRATE - Thursday, August 4: Netanyahu, Don’t Lead Israel Off a Cliff!

Do you feel Netanyahu and his policies are leading Israel off a cliff?  Are you frustrated that the right in Israel and the US has hijacked what it means to love and support Israel?  Do you feel the need to stand up and send a message?

Well we do, too.  That's why we're asking you to

Meretz USA (soon to be Partners for Progressive Israel) is taking to the streets so that the Israeli government, the Jewish community and all who care about Israel will know that the time for a negotiated end to the conflict and a revitalization of Israeli democracy is now.

With the question of UN recognition of Palestinian statehood and Israeli-Palestinian peace dominating the international diplomatic agenda, and with the recent passage of anti-democratic laws by the Knesset, including the recent Boycott Bill, this summer is crucial to Israel's future.   Let's not be paralyzed by fear that others will call us naive.  Let's not be paralyzed by apathy - thinking that "they're never going to solve this thing".  Let's not be paralyzed by the ridiculous claim that any criticism of Israel is delegitimization.

We believe that only a negotiated two-state solution will secure Israel's future!

We believe that democracy, one of Israel's founding principles, is under attack!

No longer can we, Jews who care deeply about Israel, sit quietly on the sidelines.  The future of Israel is at stake.  It's time to make our voices heard.
