David Dormont - Treasurer

For over 30 years, David has passionately worked to strengthen the Jewish Community and its connection to Israel as both a lay and professional leader.  David graduated from the Jewish Agency's Institute for Youth Leaders from Abroad in Jerusalem.  Before going to law school, David worked as a professional for American ORT, the New York Association for New Americans and Young Judea.  After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, David continued his commitment to the Jewish Community by joining the National Board of ORT, where he served as Treasurer and later Vice-President.  He reorganized ORT's budget to address educational needs in the United States and overseas. As a result of efforts, ORT presented him with the President's Award. ORT later named him Chapter Supporter of the Year.  David also served on the Board of the Friends of Camp Shomria and was elected Chair of the Board.  David volunteered for over a decade with Jewish Family and Children's Service of Greater Philadelphia.  He also served on the Israel Affairs Committee of Greater Philadelphia Hillel.  An accomplished litigator, he has obtained judgment or settlements for his clients totaling in excess of $200 million.  David is a member of Adath Israel Synagogue in Merion, Pennsylvania.
