Tell Prime Minister Netanyahu you say 'Yes' to a Palestinian state alongside Israel

Israel Says "Yes"!As we draw closer to the UN General Assembly vote expected this September on admitting Palestine as a full UN member, Prime Minister Netanyahu still has an opportunity to show courageous leadership and assure Israel's future as a democratic Jewish-majority state.  The time for Mr. Netanyahu to act is now.  The chance might not come again.

This Saturday evening, June 4, thousands of Israelis, Jewish and Arab, will rally at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv under the banner, "Israel Says ‘Yes'".  They will call on Prime Minister Netanyahu to lead Israel to a better future by embracing the vision of two sovereign states, Israel and Palestine, living in peace and security on the basis of the 1967 Green Line.

You can help the Israeli peace camp in three important ways.  We strongly encourage you to take all three of the following action steps:

1. Sign our petition to Prime Minister Netanyahu, telling him that you stand in solidarity with the Israeli peace camp, and that you, too, say ‘Yes' to a two-state solution.

2. Use the donate button on the upper-right side of this page, or click here to send a donation to Meretz USA, which will be passed on to the non-profit sponsors* of the rally.

3. Forward this email to friends, family and colleagues, encouraging them to say ‘Yes' and make a donation, too.

* Non-profit sponsors currently include the Geneva Initiative, Peace Now (Shalom Achshav), Combatants for Peace, Gush Shalom and others.

Tell Israel's Speaker of the Knesset: Women's rights are everyone's rights!

Women sit separately from men on Israel's "modesty buses"

For centuries women have worked fearlessly to gain their equal rights within society. So why in the world is religous fervor imposing segregation on Israel's democratic foundations? As American Zionists, we must make our voice heard. The impostion of Ultra-Orthodox practices by Israel's government on all sectors of Israel's women must stop. When women's rights are violated anywhere, they are violated everywhere. Click here to urge Israel not to deny equal rights to its people!

Tell Israel’s Housing Minister: The settlements are our business, too!

Houng units under construction in Har Homa an Israeli settlement near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, 23 January 2008.More Israeli settlements over the Green Line ARE a recipe for disaster. So why in the world is Israel's Housing Minister continuing to build them? Click here, and remind the Minister that 2008 is supposed to be a year of negotiations and peace. Provocative unilateral Israeli actions such as these only weaken Palestinian moderates and heighten skepticism that a viable Palestinian state can be achieved around the bargaining table.
