Tell Israel’s Prime Minister: Two states – before it’s too late

Flags of Israel and PalestineSince taking office six weeks ago, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dodged and weaved when asked his position on the two-state plan. His Foreign Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, has been even more blunt, referring to peacemaking efforts as nothing more than a "peace industry" and a "waste of money".

But now it's "crunch time": Mr. Netanyahu is about to have his first official meeting with President Obama. Ambiguity and equivocation just won't cut it.

The President has made clear that America is committed to Israel's security. But he has also stressed that he is serious about a peace process that will create a sovereign State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel.

Netanyahu has to present an Israeli policy that endorses peace, without any ifs ands or buts. Please write Israel's Prime Minister, and urge him to announce his government's support for the two-state solution when he meets with President Obama.

According to some reports, Mr. Netanyahu, is a pragmatist at heart who wants to reach a deal. If so, the time for him to show his true colors has arrived. Only a two-state solution can guarantee Israel's future as a democracy. But the opportunity won't last forever.

Please urge Mr. Netanyahu to endorse the two-state solution, and to work with President Obama to make it a reality. Before it's too late.
